Servant of god-Fr Thomas Poothathil

Have you ever heard of someone who spent their whole life helping others and loving God? Meet Fr Thomas Poothathil, a kind and holy priest from Kerala, India. He is called a “Servant of God,” which means the Church has begun a special process to see if he can be called a saint one day!

Fr Thomas was born in 1911 and became a priest because he loved Jesus very much and wanted to serve people. He was always gentle, prayerful, and full of joy. People said he had a big heart and a listening ear. He worked in many places, helping the poor, teaching about Jesus, and spreading God’s love.

Even when life was hard, Fr Thomas never gave up. He trusted in God completely and spent a lot of time in prayer. He loved the Holy Mass and encouraged others to pray the Rosary and stay close to Jesus and Mary.

What can we learn from him?

Fr Thomas teaches us to be kind, to pray every day, and to help others—especially those in need. He reminds us that even small things done with love make a big difference.

How can we be like him?

• Smile and be kind to others at school or home.

• Pray every day, even just for a few minutes.

• Help your family, friends, or anyone who is sad or lonely.

Just like Fr Thomas, we can be close to Jesus by loving others and doing good every day!

Let’s try it today! 😊
