Bindhu Jom Makkil is the daughter of the late N. T. Lukose and Chinnamma Lukose of the Nootiyanikunnell family, and a member of the Maridum parish. She is married to Mr. Jom Makkil and they are blessed with three children. Her family currently belongs to St. John’s Church, Chamakkala.

She completed her primary education at St. Antony’s High School, Kadaplamattom, followed by her pre-degree studies at St. Stephen’s College, Uzhavoor. She pursued her nursing education at RD Gardi Nurses Training Centre in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Her professional career began at the Ministry of Health Hospital in Taif, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2003, she joined the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Kettering General Hospital (KGH) as a Band 5 Nurse. She later earned a BSc (Hons) in Cardiac Nursing from De Montfort University, Leicester, in 2008.
In 2012, she was promoted to Band 6 Deputy Sister in CCU and served as a Cardiac Outreach Nurse. Her career progressed further in 2016 when she became a Band 7 Lead Practitioner at the Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic. She completed her MSc in Advanced Professional Practice in 2018 and currently works as a Band 8B Advanced Practitioner at the Urgent Care Centre and Out-of-Hours Service.
Beyond her professional commitments, she is an active member of the Knanaya community and is deeply involved in religious and social activities. She serves as the Assistant DBS Officer for St. Edward’s Church in Kettering. She has also held several leadership positions, including ,Treasurer of Rosa Mystica Presidium of Legion of Mary and Head Teacher of the St.Jude Knanaya Catholic Catechism School in Kettering.
